Rescue a Beagle in Contra Costa County, California: 8 Beagles Need Homes ASAP!

Reblogger Chris Minion

Chris Fisher's post about the 8 beagles that need homes ASAP is quite sad.  The dogs ranging from 1 to 5 years old, have been used in laboratory tests. The lab is done with them and the beagles will be euthanized, unless rescuer's come to the dogs aid.  Please read Chris's post.  These poor dogs do not deserve to die & to only have known life as a test animal in a laboratory cage. Please help them......their time is running out.

I just came across this story in the Clayton Pioneer

Sherrie Henderson of TLC Pet Grooming in Clayton has been working very hard to rescue 18 dogs ranging from 1-5 years old, all pure bred Beagles.  The dogs have been used in labratory tests and the lab where they were being used is done with them .  This means they are going to be put to sleep.  The dogs were scheduled to be put to sleep at the end of January, Sherrie was able to get an extension through February.  10 of the dogs have been adopted, there are 8 still available.  We only have until the end of February, please act fast.

According to Sherrie, the only thing wrong with these dogs is that they are used to living in a cage, therefore are not yet potty trained.  Sherrie does not even know which lab the dogs are in, however has a contact, Debbie, who let her know about the situation.  If you can help please call Debbie directly at 925.698.2976 or call Sherrie at TLC Pet Grooming, 6078 Main Street in Clayton, 925.672.2547.

According to Sherrie, when the labs are done with the test animals every few months, they are put to sleep if rescue efforts are not made.

This is just one of the many reasons I only buy products that are NOT tested on animals whenever humanly possible.  Please adopt a Beagle if you can.

Thank you,

Chris, this is a great thing that you do. Hope they all get adopted by kind and loving families.  We need to protect those who can't speak for themselves. I work with our SPCA here and it's so wonderful when they do get adopted.

Hello Toni,

I hope that time did not run out on them, and they were rescued by an animal rescue group or adopted out.  The sad part about these beagles - they were laboratory animals.  It would be very sad if they never had the chance to be loved.  Thank you for visiting.  I appreciate it.  That is great that you work with your local SPCA.

Chris
