For themseles and for their Country - Gold and Silver in the Pairs Skating! Wow - China's Shen Xue and Zhau Hongbo earned a world's best by taking home the Gold in the Pairs Figure Skating! It was hard to decide who was best - suffice - to say say that the two Chinese pairs blew everyone else out of the water!
Never ones to show a lot of emotion.......it was touching to see how moved they were - and to see their otherwise straight faced national coach Yao Bin wiping a tear from his eye. 
The story goes that people in the audience laughed when the Chinese first skated in an international competition ~ and he swore that one day they would win the Gold. Well that day has come!
Gosh I wish I had some better photos - but here we go! And talk about bringing in the New Year with a Roar!
Gold! China - the married duo....36 & 31 (that must be a record right there too) Did you know Zhao proposed marriage to his partner of 18 years on the ice in Tokyo three years ago?

Silver! After ending the short program yesterday in 4th place (and being penalized for running over time in their program) they came up with a flawless performance~
