That is interesting... Thanks for sharing! We love paying referral fees, so when you encounter someone considering a move to NC please keep us in mind!... Thank you.
Interesting reading. I like that they show where the folks leaving an area are going.
Lane,
Fascinating, I have heard a lot about people and businesses coming to Atlanta for our airport and low cost of living. Hadn't heard about I-85 corridor. But I know it is busy!
All the best, Michelle
You know Lane, I read the other day that it's also a great "retirement" spot and that Georgia picks up lots of people ending their careers other places and moving here for the mild climate and low property taxes.
Had a friend relocated back to Florida after years in retirement here in Georgia. Now when I talk to her she hates the property taxes and high insurance and the low Georgia income tax looks pretty good in hind sight.
Lane * I'm re-blogging * VA gained 5,200+ * probably military families moving out because of BRAC closings
Lane, well ya know it is true, jobs dictate the housing market. Follow the jobs and you will see a more stable houseing market. We have been loosing people since 2001 up here as we became less dependent on the automotive industry. Not surprising data.
Good data, interesting reading. I agree, follow the job creation patterns and you will also see why people are relocating. Texas has been very business friendly and aggressively recruiting new and existing businesses to locate here. In my area, Georgetown, retirement is also a big motivator for people to locate here. In fact, I'd wager that 30 % of the sales now in Georgetown are in Dell Webb's Sun City Georgetown. And most of those are cash sales. Gotta love it in this market.
Thanks for the comments - Always good to keep up with what is going on... and it is even better to figure out why.
