if Ohio is "the heart of it all" what's your state?

Brian Brady had long ago declared Arizona the epicenter of real estate blogging. Or was it Phoenix in particular?  Well we know Brian has his opinions.

beating heartOhio used to be "the heart of it all." That was a tourism slogan in the 80's or 90's?

Minnesota may be the brain state but I believe Ohio is the heart of blogging...

Yes the Twin Cities and Columbus are on the list on of World Blogging Centers but outside of the Twin Cities in MN how many bloggers do you find?  Are there other cities in MN?  In Ohio but not on the list of world blogging centers but certainly full of bloggers of every ilk...  Cleveland and Cincinnati... not to mention the Dayton area (home to such fine bloggers as Teri Lussier), Akron, Canton, Youngstown and  Toledo...

I met some new Central Ohio bloggers thanks to BlogTour USA stopping in Columbus (actually the stop was in in Worthington a suburb of Columbus, part of the Greater Columbus area or Metro Columbus)  last Friday.  The new bloggers I met are not new bloggers, just new to me.  I collect Columbus bloggers for my blogrolls on Columbus Best Blog and Discover Columbus and to read...

Columbus is in the blog belt.

The world's blog belt according to an article on Business Week.  We're there right along with Moscow, Minneapolis and Mumbai....  World blogging centers:

"New York, Los Angeles, London, Chicago, Rome, Madrid, Toronto, Houston, Washington, Atlanta, Paris, Seattle, San Diego, Austin Texas, Minneapolis, Denver, San Francisco, Portland Oregon, Dallas, Singapore, St. Louis, Jakarta, Brooklyn NY, Philadelphia, Mexico City, Montreal, Beijing, Moscow, Mumbai."

Does Minneapolis on the blog belt list mean Minneapolis and St. Paul?

I'll match our Ohio boondocks bloggers with any other states boondocks bloggers any day of the week.... no they may not have an ax or wear flannel shirts 11 months out of the year but Ohio's rural and small town bloggers are a force to be reckoned with.   I mean 'boondocks" in the nicest way.... of course, nothing derogatory about Ohio's boondocls or Minnesota's boondocks.... or boondocks in general.

Brain, heart...gosh I just had a Wizard of Oz flashback... maybe the BlogTour USA guys can tell us what state is Blog Tour USA the cowardly lion of blogging? ...And if the brain and the heart are in the midwest.... actually in the Great Lakes states... what is going on in the rest of the USA.

"There's no place like home...."

Looking for Ohio bloggers....give a holler if you are a blogger in Ohio. Not just real estate blogs, Ohio technology blogs, Ohio food blogs, Ohio music blog*, Ohio business blogs, personal blogs of Ohioans... no splogs,  no spamming but I always want to know about more Ohio blogs.

Ohio is the heart of it all...

*If I am not mistaken the heart of rock and roll is still Cleveland.... I belive that is what Huey Lewis and the News said....so I would imagine there have got to be some great music blogs from Cleveland.

Hi Maureen - New Hampshire is the "Live Free or Die" state, and we also like to call it "God's Country" because that's what it is to all who live here.

Maureen, there are lots of music blogs in Cleveland lol.  I lived in Strongsville Ohio for a while and they called themselves the 'Crossroads of the Nation'.  Probably still do, dunno.  No lack of self esteem for that city :-)

interesting that Strongsville says that Carole because I believe Perrysburg - just south of Toledo - is using the same slogan to attract new business (at least was when I lived up that way 98-02).

I lived in Kansas City for years and it was always "the Heart of America".  I just googled "the heart of america" and up popped Kansas City!

Does anyone in KC blog? There are a couple on AR that I know of, David Britt for one, from Olathe, a suburb on the KS side.

Joanne... I googled "the heart of it all" and websites about Ohio popped up!

I know I would not have done that three years ago...  I am not sure I would have really done it (googled a phrase)  a year ago.  I learned a little bit about googling on RealTalk from "Fred Goole It  Salzer" as I came to think of Fred.  Fred's a member here but not real active.

I think there's a Chris L.  in KC?  I think he has another blog outside of AR.  He mentioned the Blog Tour USA guys were missing some great bbq by skipping KC.  Chris is Olathe too.

You already mentioned me, but there are a few, a precious few, of us here in Dayton.

One is my new RE partner, David Davison who found AR just before I was able to tell him about it. Darn it. Now I gotta earn my points the old fashioned way... :-D

I'll go find his AR blog, and post it. He's quite good. Got it, it's here...

I remember thinking there were very few bloggers in Columbus but there are lots.  I've just had to dig for them.  Of course there are a lot of new RE bloggers in Columbus too.

Thanks for introducing David!  The old fashioned way includes snagging people too.

Joanne I think our heart has to do a bit with the shape of the state but also it has to do with being centrally located to population centers.  We aren't in the center of the US but we have a great location for transportation industry, distribution centers... there's some claim about how many people are within X number of hours of Ohio.
