Despite the various ways in which homeowners can enhance their home's value, perhaps none has the same impact as a brand new coat of paint. Although it's not an easy task by any stretch of the imagination, it makes sense when you consider that a few $20 cans of paint can result in adding hundreds or even thousands of dollars to your property value.

Dallas,

You are so right.  A fresh coat of paint is the #1 bang for your buck when getting a house ready to sell.  First it makes the house look CLEAN and a neutral color goes a long way toward making the buyer see their things in the home.

New paint adds a fresh appearance, but as you said Toni - neutral is the key.  So many buyers are offput by loud colors.  And for some strange reason, a seller compelled to use bright yellow in one room often uses lime or turquoise in another!
