Proud of where I live... Money Magazine rates us 8th in the country...

My home town of Chaska, Minnesota has been rated #8 in places to live according to Money Magazine in the ranking of the 100 Best Places to Live in the United States for 2007.

While serving in many leadership positions in our community, we strived and used the slogan "The Best Small Town in Minnesota".  Now, we are not only "The Best Small Town in Minnesota", but #8 in the US.

We were recognized for our quality jobs and beautiful settings.  "Just 25 miles southwest of Minneapolis, it's one of the more rural towns on our list, and its small 19th century downtown quickly yeilds to open fields, farmland and the Minnesota River.  And it has brains too.  More than a dozen technology and biotech firms are based there.  The town is a magnate for families, who can find reasonably priced homes, low taxes and quality schools".

Chaska, Minn. Chaska's downtown gazebo has hosted summer concerts for more than a century.

8. Chaska, Minn. Population: 22,500
Median home price (2006): $272,932
Average property taxes (2006): $2,752
Pros: Quality jobs, a beautiful setting
Cons: Winter; highway expansion will spur growth
