Google Moves Into Real Estate Advertising.

By
Industry Observer

Google recently teamed up with one of the largest Australian real estate agencies to market proof their new real estate advertising platform based on Google Maps and video presentations with map pins.

Google maps positioning proved one of the best marketing tools for my lead generation for Naples waterfront real estate, estate homes and luxury real estate key words. I am still using a number of overseas and local portals for more aggressive lead generation, however Google Maps leads have the highest conversion ratio compared even to largest portals. So no wonder a number of real estate portals here in US and overseas are very nervous about this new initiative, especially taking into account Google's dominance in internet search market.

Google Maps positioning combined with local community and interior home video placed on YouTube and a number of other vidoe sharing websites makes up to very effective conversion of internet leads to potential and then actual real estate buyers. I am using amateur video shots and they initially work as effective as more expensive and time consuming visual property tours.

My national rental website provider has put Google pins on maps for a few years.  The site HOTPADS does also and it is very helpful and I wish more people knew their WORK address so they could calculate their drive distance to their prospective new home

Sal,

Google has some great Internet traction, but unless they tap into the MLS listing database directly (which could happen I suppose) the most upto date data-savy buyers will still be looking to local MLS for their info. JMHO
