From time to time, one has the fortunate privilege of being introduced to a person, business or service that exceeds your expectations. My introduction to Sananda Spa & Salon in Grand Rapids, Michigan is just such an experience!
However, the path to this connection is often littered with dashed aspirations and less than hoped for outcomes. Such was my experience in locating a good hair dresser in Grand Rapids, Michigan This makes the discovery even sweeter.
It may seem like a "small thing" to get a good haircut and style. But just ask John Edwards who has suffered endless media attention and focus on his $400 "doo", a good style... is no small matter. Although I can't relate to the price tag, I sympathize with his desire to have a special touch on his manicured tresses.
Every '"girlfriend" knows that finding a good stylist who doesn't keep you in the shop for half a day is an event worthy of Celebration! Most of us have resigned ourselves to the fact that you either spend the time or put up with sub-standard styling.
Well, my putting up came to a dramatic halt after several years with my former hairdresser. As she washed my hair, after coming in late for the appointment, she began to tell me how she had sent a lady to the hospital because she accidentally aimed a deluge from the water sprayer into her ears.
Perhaps the memory of the event jostled some hidden reflex. I suddenly found myself bolting out of my chair as the sprayer's full stream of water found it's mark right into my ears. That was it! My jacket was drenched. Fortunately, my ears were OK. I immediately began to call around for recommendations to friends, associates, anyone I could think of.
Finally, I connected with a friend who told me about a young lady who worked in a Salon called Sanada. Sandra said:
- "You've got to get in to see Kristin. I've said good-bye to hours spent getting my hair done. She's not cheap, but she's good and she can get you in and out in an hour! But don't be put off if it takes you awhile to get an appointment."
I'm glad she let me know that. Kristin, one of the team of excellent stylist at Sananda Spa and Salon, is booked weeks in advance. And for good reason. She's worth it!
Sananda is part of trio of first rate Salons and Spas in the Grand Rapids, Michigan area. I would highly recommend Sananda's massage therapist Linda. She is also available by appointment at the other locations. The woman has a gift in locating stress points and making them magically disappear. They also provide a full array of different Body Treatments, Masks and Facial Treatments as well as the Standard Manicures and Pedicures. Kristin, my stylist is also a Certified Specialist in Hair Extensions, an increasingly popular service to add volume and instant length to your hair.
Since I'm usually dashing between appointments on most of my visits, I haven't sampled all the services, but those I have were professionally and competently rendered. The biggest gift to me is the Value of my Time! Kristin consistently gets me into and more importantly out of her chair in an hour or less! A visit to Sananda will succeed in leaving you feeling relaxed and refreshed as well as fill you with joy and happiness about a job well done!
