I'm not an avid fisher-person, but I've been out more than a time or two with seasoned professionals, and am always amazed at the careful thought and analysis that goes into selecting just the right lure for just the kind of river inhabitant the fisherman hopes to catch. Personally, I'm a big fan of "put the worm on the hook and see what bites", and have caught many an ornery toad fish that way, as well as some great spot tail bass!

Sometimes I feel like my Real Estate Lead Generation is much like those fishing expeditions.  I put a great deal of thought and energy into choosing the right target neighborhood, or surrounding neighbors, or sphere of influence, and spend hours refining canned postcard and/or "touch" campaigns, and even more hours implementing them, all with varying degrees of success.

Then today happens.  On a whim, I acquired some "free" car door magnets from the printer who does my business cards, and put them on my son's truck. The magnets are nothing special - not even in the right colors as our Company logo!   I got a call today from a family who lives in my son's neighborhood.  The caller started by saying, "I was out walking with my kids, and I saw your sign on the back of a truck.  I need to sell my house in this neighborhood.  Can you help me?"

Why, yes, I certainly can!

I never subscribed to the car magnet form of promoting myself until recently, but it works! Congrats on the new lead.
