The 2010 Optimist Travelogue films are well on their way. The films are shown at Loveland's Thompson Valley High School, Price Auditorium. All shows are on Saturdays at 7 p.m. Single admission tickets: adult $8, senior & student $7.50, and family $16.

So far our tour has taken us to  "In Search of Shangri-La" with presenter Buddy Hatton in person. This "land of sacredness and peace" at the foot of beautiful of snowcapped mountains in Tibet has just been opened to visitors in the last 5 years.

Last Saturday (Feb 20), Steve Genser, took us to "St. Vincent and the Caribbean Jewels" with its volcanic mountains and brilliant flora - a prime vacation playground.

We have two show left. Dale Johnson will present "Norway - the Land of Vikings" on March 27 showing the Lofoten Islands, North Cape, the most northern point in Europe, and also all the major cities of these vibrant, dynamic people. On April 10, Jodi Ginter will show us "The Natural Wonders of the Southeast Coast" from Virginia Beach, to Sapalo Island, to the Everglades, to the Florida Keys

These travelogue films are sponsored by the Loveland Breakfast Optimist club which meets Wednesdays at 7 a.m. at Schmidt's Bakery, 808 14th st S.W. Visitors are welcome.

Proceeds from the films help the club to sponsor many youth activities including Citizenship Awards to elementary students, Optimist Jr Golf tournament at the Olde Course in June, student of the month at Ferguson High School, oratorical and essay contests. Also, they support Boy Scouts and Girl Scouts of America, Boys State and Girls State, Respect for Law, and other community projects.

Come help the Loveland Breakfast Optimist Club support Loveland's children.
