Been there several times. You don't have to wait to visit a national cemetery, though. They are in many areas of the country, with Arlington arguably being the most famous. Here we have Rosecrans National Cemetery, which is getting a second second 30 miles away that will be able to handle 235,000 people. Here's a picture of the original one:
In the horizon you can see North Island Naval Air Station (center), San Diego Harbor (right), and downtown San Diego (left).
