Fantastic (Not a chain) Restaurants in Atlanta - Cafe Lapin Restaurant - Peachtree Battle Shopping Center! When I moved to Atlanta GA in 1982 to go to college, my family loved to visit from southwest Florida. I used to joke that I wasn't sure if it was to see me or check out our awesome restaurants and shopping. My mom always did (and still does) say, take us to a great restaurant that is NOT A CHAIN! She loves the charm and quaint factors you get at a one of a kind place.
So, I am starting a new blog post along this line of restaurants I highly recommend in Atlanta GA that are Not a Chain Restaurants! A great place I just found recently that fits this bill to a T is Cafe Lapin in the Peachtree Battle Shopping Center! It's at the intersection of Peachtree Rd and Peachtree Battle Avenue. I had a lovely meal there last week with my good friend, who laughed as she saw me taking pictures outside before coming in. (She said she figured it was for my blog. What are good friends for anyways?)
Cafe Lapin is a charming French cafe/bakery styled restaurant serving Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner. They don't serve alcohol, but you are welcome to bring some for yourself for dinner without a cork fee! I think one of the best words to describe Cafe Lapin is fresh. They try to use everything from scratch in the freshest variety and it shows with the wonderful quality of the meals. The food is excellent, melting in your mouth as you enjoy every bite!
For those of you with a sweet tooth, Cafe Lapin offers incredible deserts! I watched in a 20 minute period as a cake was nearly sold out at lunch from when it was brought out to the display case. They also make cookies based on the season. You can order ahead if you have a special occassion.
Lastly, they offer a variety of take home family size meals at very reasonable prices. Perfect to bring home for a busy day or a friend/family in need. I am thrilled my good friend shared Cafe Lapin with me, so I could share it with you!
