After 6 months of wearing my nametag, for the sole purpose of embarrassing my daughter :)  I Finally pick up my first client because off of it.

A lady approched me at a local sandwich shop and was enquiring about listing her house.   Needless to say after impressing her with my knowledge and the choices I made her aware of like renting/selling etc... we will be listing her house soon.

Great story, all the more reason to wear a nametag.  Unless of course you are at a funeral, then it's probably bad taste.

Its hard to imagine a reason NOT to wear one.  It is all about branding. They are essential at networking events like a chamber of commerce meeting.

I've begun to get into the habit also and will track it to see how it works long term.

Adan - I wear mine all the time, but I just got one about 2 months ago. I've met a few people that asked me questions, but not clients just yet. Its another opportunity to attract clients.

Good for you! I have one, but it lives in my purse most of the time.  Maybe I should start wearing it more.

Great post!  I used to wear my name tag but now I wear polos in different colors with the company logo on it.  I've gained a few clients from that alone.  I do make sure to wear my name tag and Realtor pin when I attend networking events.

Thanks for a great post/reminder!  I wear my name tag almost every day.  I think it helps our approachability (as someone said, lots of people have trouble with names).  Most people are curious about what's happening in real estate, and they're reminded that we're open to help.  I keep a supply in gold, silver, black and white so it compliments my clothing.  Through the years, I've met lots of people this way and reminded others that I'm in the business. Still.

What a funny post, I thought the comment about wearing your name tag upside down was also clever, although I would be afraid to do it myself.

This was recommended to me as a new agent too - I headed into the grocery store, forgot about the tag, and upon checking out the grocery bagger said, "hey lady, do you know you have a name tag on?" Duh.

Yes it works Adan. I wear my name tag everyday and you would be amazed at the people who will come up to you and start talking real estate. I had a dentist appointment the other day, there was a new receptionist who made the comment that she wished everyone would wear name tags! I am glad they don't - that way I get noticed more.

Great Post.  Wearing your tag really works.  One of my associates was on line at   Rite Aid  store and a customer noticed her  tag.  She approcted the agent and told her that she  wanted to sell her home and was looking for a realtor.

I know that wearing my name tag would increase my business, and yet I still don't do it because I feel nerdy walking around with it on all day.  Some would say, wouldn't feeling nerdy be worth an extra few thousand per year?  Well, apparently not to me, because I still refuse to wear it.  I'm not saying it makes sense, it's just me.  Congrats to you for doing what it takes!

Nametags?  Did someone say nametags?  I make name tags and ship all over the country.  Name tags are available in all sizes, colors and shapes.

I have a client that orders name tags for his power partners (title and escorw agents, notary agents, lenders).  By ordering name tags for his power partners, he is creating goodwill, providing a useful tool with a high perceived value - not to mention if any of them are asked who they would reccomend to list or show them a house - he is at the top of their mind daily.  The best form of advertising is a referral.  Name tags should be part of your marketing plan.

He has had great success by wearing his name tag to his childrens school functions, sport practices, grocery store, post office and of course chamber mixers and networking events.

Give me a call today or visit my website, I would be happy to produce your name tag.
