Do you "keep your cool" with your client when you face a loss of a commission?

So, how many times have you wanted to "tell off" a seller or a buyer who was pushing your buttons?

Perhaps the seller wanted you to reduce your commission after listing and showing their home zillions of times.  Or perhaps the buyer you had been working with placed an offer on an open house and did not provide your name to the listing agent, thus you lost out on a commission.

Are you able to keep "your cool"?  Can you calmly explain why you are upset and you hope the client will refer you to their friends and family to "make up" for the loss?

What do you do?

Ann-thought provoking post. I ususally keep my cool but send an email to the offending party later on-at least it makes me feel better.

Helping clients say "Hello" to a "Good-Buy"....

I just went through a situation MUCH like this. Both agents involved ended up taking a small(however still annoying) cut in our commissions.  What I WANTED to do, and ACTUALLY ended up doing were opposites.  I still kept the closing going, and tried to thank my clients, sellers, for the sale.  They walked away ungrateful, of course, but in the end....I kept my composure.  You just never know who they know and what they may say to another potential client...

Just some food for thought!
