I know that one must always have a 10-15 second commerical ready for the "elevator speech" type communication.  Any ideas on real estate?

Even though I "soft sell", there are times when it is appropriate to just say it.....   I don't like people to push their stuff on me and so I am considerate of other peoples personal space as well.  Don't get me wrong, I love real estate, have been blessed and I've had a very successful run but who doesn't want to get better at what they do?  I am always looking for ways to be a better value to my client but I am trying to think of a "quick speak" elevator, soccer field, golf course bystander-type discussion to keep things rolling and increase my business at the same time.

Any ideas?

A local business leader teaches all sorts of class's. One on which is  doing your 'commercials'. My 10 second commerical was easy. But she pushes to have several commercials at the ready including : 1 minute, 5 minute and 20 minute commercials. Having them at the ready keeps you prepared for what ever...

My 10 second commercial: I'm a Realtor with a focus on energy efficiency, sustainable and the environment.

What's your commericial?

Hi Dena,  First of all, what is "Ecobroker"?  Very interesting but haven't heard of that in California yet  (Major Eco Friendly state, I'de like to think)

My tag line is "The guiding forss behind your next investment" and my commercial thus far has been blabbering but with the intention of saying something to the effect ...

"I work in real estate investing"  which hopefully invites interest or comment about how or does it work for me.

Then I follow up with "I help clients earn equity through home or land acquisition, have you heard of that? "    Depends who I am speaking with on how I address that specifically.

I would love to have a one liner to get my point across but also promote a conversation.  I think its easy to say a one liner and be done but my hope is to encourage a conversation to keep going.  any thoguhts?

I tend to be bold and polite at the same time.  One time I was at the gas station and the woman behind the counter was reading the house trader.  I bought my gas and handed her a card and told her I can be much more helpfull than a magazine and to please call me that I would like to help her.  She called me week later.  She could not qualify but it worked.   I look for any in.  I wish I had a universal one liner also to start the conversation.  Conversation is like golf.   Your long game is finding someone and breaking the ice (the drive)  Then working into a conversation that you are a Realtor (the 9 iron)  and telling the person to please call you with all of their real estate questions or needs (the putt).  The hardest part for me is the drive.
