Not sure if this was the smartest thing for this homeowner to do but if he thinks destroying his home was a good decision, I think he will be in more trouble.... possibly jail.

This undated photo released by Terry Hoskins, who allegedly ...

An Ohio man says he bulldozed his $350,000 home to keep a bank from foreclosing on it.Terry Hoskins says he has struggled with the RiverHills Bank over his home in Moscow for years and had problems with the Internal Revenue Service. He says the IRS placed liens on his carpet store and commercial property and the bank claimed his house as collateral.

Hoskins says he owes $160,000 on the house. He says he spent a lot of money on attorneys and finally had enough. About two weeks ago he bulldozed the home 25 miles southeast of Cincinnati.Messages were left for the bank and its attorney. IRS spokeswoman Jodie Reynolds said individual taxpayer information is private and federal law prevents her from commenting.

Steve: Interesting post, thanks for sharing.  I wonder if it is illegal for you to bulldoze your own home.  At the very least, you probably need a permit!  :)

I agree that he may spend more time in court.  He is actually destroying someone elses property.  Plus he will owe the IRS anyway.  I wonder if he plans on leaving the country?

I saw this on the news yesterday. I wonder if he had a permit?  My understanding it was the bank's home at the time.

My thought is if he thinks he had trouble's in the past with the IRS and the Banks, he is really going to have more problems now. This shows criminal intent to destroy a property that technically belongs to the bank.
