Let's get ready to retire!!! Ok... so where do you go? What options are out there for Empty Nesters in Bridgewater Nova Scotia? Oh yes, and at an affordable price!!!

You have condos, apartments, retirement homes & mini homes. These seem to be the majority of options that our senior age groups in Bridgewater Nova Scotia look at.

Now let's think about these 4 for a minute. Renting in Bridgewater Nova Scotia is getting to be a bit more expensive and more limited then you would think. There are fewer and fewer nice, newer, low maintenance apartments for rent at affordable pricing for our 50 plus buyers.

After years of paying a mortgage do you want to throw your money off the balcony so to speak? Wouldn't you like to keep some in your own pocket or pass some along to your family? Ok, renting an apartment has its advantages, no mowing, no maintenance, no shoveling and no roof to repair etc.etc. But what about your return on your investment? How much is this really costing you? Are you making your landlord rich?

Mini homes in Bridgewater are reaching an all time high, highway robbery that is!! The costs of mini homes continue to rise and are a depreciating purchase. Lot rents as high as $250.00 per month is crazy! Have you ever considered the fact that this amount of money each month equates to almost a $50,000.00 a year mortgage payment?  Imagine what that money could buy. You just spent out 100,000.00 for a new mini home and then add this on top of it. You could have bought yourself a small home or duplex in a nice neighbor hood with that amount of money.

Mini Homes.....Sure, we are back to the low maintenance of not a lot of mowing and shoveling, but you still have maintenance to look after with this mini and you "RENT" the property it's on! Oh yes, water & sewer are not included!!

Condo's....... are another prime example of this. In Bridgewater Nova Scotia, there are not a lot of condo development options out there. Most are similar to an apartment with not a lot of special features and have condo fees which tend to keep rising. When you move up to a more expensive price range you can get some fringe benefits....but you will pay for this!

Retirement homes.....If you have the money then this could be a great option. We know that many people don't have the option to live on there own with certain circumstances that they have. If you are able and can care for yourself, then really this is not an option.

With assisted living that is a whole different kettle of fish. Those costs can be astronomical. Let's move on.

New developments in Bridgewater Nova Scotia are emerging all the time. Single level duplexes, town houses, small clusters of retirement communities this is just the beginning of things to come. Don't limit yourself to the older conventional ways, think out side the box and remember, Retirement is just the beginning of your next new adventure!

We can talk all day about options that are out there. Doing your research on the best way to spend your money and keep your equity is time well spent! Let me assist you with all these options.
