The Friends of the Port St. Lucie Botanical Gardens is proud to announce the grand opening of the stunning Gardens on Saturday, March 6 at 11 a.m.
Mayor Patricia P. Christensen and other city officials will be on hand for the grand opening. Port St. Lucie City Councilman Christopher Cooper, whose vision of a place for the community on the North Fork of the St. Lucie River has resulted in this site, will cut the vine that marks the official opening of the Gardens. A key to the Gardens will then be handed to the Friends of the Port St. Lucie Botanical Gardens, an all-volunteer organization that will be responsible for organizing the Gardens' events and running its Nature Center.
Tours of the Nature Center and the Botanical Gardens will be available after the vine cutting, and food vendors will be on hand to make the event even more festive.
The Port St. Lucie Botanical Gardens are located at 2410 S.E. Westmoreland Blvd.
