I just discovered that American Idol judge Kara Dioguardi's Hollywood Hills home is on the market for the recently reduced price of $1,649,000. The classic Spanish home is 3br, 3 1/2 baths in 2,736 sqft and sits on a relatively small 4,790 sqft lot. It's a very private estate, perfect for celebrities, up a gated drive. Open floor plan, wood beamed ceilings, dark wood floors, gorgeous master, and modern kitchen and baths. The home was featured in the January issue of In Style Magazine, and is referred to by the listing agent as "the home of the making of many platinum albums." Great views, and it even has a spa and outdoor ceder sauna nestled in the canyon. I don't know where she's going, but my guess is she's upgrading with all that Idol money....
It's also available for lease for $6,000 if you swing that way.
Additionally, I've been posting on Facebook and other places that there seems to be an epidemic of Hollywood startlets taking enormous losses on real estate so far in 2010. Scarlett Johansson, Ashlee Simpson, Kate Walsh, Kimora Lee Simmons, and now Your Mama over at The Real Estalker points out that Sharon Stone is the latest celeb to bite it. The home was purchased by Sharon for an eye-popping $10,995,000 back in March of 2006, which we all know was pretty much the peak of the market. Stone never did inhabit the property, and put it back on the market less than 4 months later at an INSANE $12,500,000. Long story short, no one took the bait, it went off the market, came back on the market, went back off the market. It was then leased for $35,000/month (down from an asking price of $58,000). After the lease was up, it came back ON the market, OFF the market, and has been back on at it's current asking price for about 6 months. Which means they won't get anywhere close to that.
