If you have lived in Albuquerque for awhile, you probably know that the small independently owned, "mom and pop" eateries make some of the best food in town. Yes, the often overlooked operations that cater to those of us who dare to step out of our comfort zone with regards to eating. Nothing against the big chains and franchises, this blog focuses on the the small, locally-owned establishments.
This is the first of in the series. My goal is to highlight as many of them as I can, so that as visitors come in and out of our city, they can get a taste of New Mexico's fine cuisines.
The Red Ball Café located at 1301 4th SW is a Historical Landmark. Serves both breakfast and lunch. Reasonably priced and makes Huevos Rancheros to die for. If you visit before 10:30 am you can eat Huevos Rancheros for $3.75 per plate. So, if you are ever looking for an Albuquerque Restaurant, and you happen to be in the vicinity of 4th and Bridge, stop in and say hi to the the folks at The Red Ball Café.
