If you sit down in front of a Commodore 64 or even a 128 (woo hoo) the blog posts on Active Rain you follow would trickle in slowly.

Filling your black and white screen with rolls of copy, assembled electrons to make a point. Send a message. But if copy is all you bring to the blogging buffet, no matter how gifted a wordsmith you are or gold stars collected on English papers in high school and college, something very big is missing. This blog post is written with one black crayon. That's it. To prove a point, this blog post lacks imagery, any video embeds, has no maps. No local landscapes or event photos to distinguish it or make the pulse pick up, cause firework excitement stir.

In real estate, like gems or anything else that is promoted for sale, every property is unique in location and setting. What it is riddled with for features. Like people, properties are different. Like cards in the hand you were just dealt, play those image cards. The fancy face cards showing the lake view, large great room with roaring fireplace and wall of glass to the patio. The eye candy. Or better yet show those images at rapid fire 30 frames per second and embed a video of the inside, outside and community. With slow pans and your own words as "ear candy" , tickling the ears not just read with the pair of eyeballs in front of that Commodore. Too many blog posts, either from lack of time or sudden stolen, lost pictures of the place, community come out pretty black and white, skimpy. With real estate and a drive thru buyer giving you six seconds tops to deliver or they speed out of the property parking lot, leaving two trails of rubber as they beat feet.

As a bare minimum in that two or three paragraphs, leave some links to hopefully the fountain of property where there are images, video, more information, maps, the works. Making the buyer go on a maze of internet click throughs though means along the way, they get pulled in to another side bar site or just give up on the search altogether. Your headline hooked them enough to come in to see what all the real estate hooplah is about. Don't let them leave the store without the experience of a demonstration...something they take with them for a mental image, or hearing your friendly voice letting them know you are here to help. Today or three years from now.

Establish the connection, work their five senses with images, video, sound, copy and at the same time establish your brand as the property peddler, dealer.

The guy or gal to turn to when they are ready to rock and roll, slip and slide into a piece of property that you just so happen to have the listing on. That you would love to attend a real estate closing with them on, and become their real estate broker for life. Don't blog with just a dull, short broken black crayon. Paint with more copy colors, images, video.
