Arvada has a lot of wonderful parks opportunities. Did you know one of the goals of the Parks group is to he a park located within 10 minutes' walk from any house in Arvada? I recently had the opportunity to walk around the open space near the west edge of Arvada at Partridge Open Space. It's a slice of land bordering 80th ave. and encompasses the model airplane airport. The area is great for a quick hike or mountain bike ride and is less than a 5 minute drive from Ralston Valley High School.


It is connected to Arvada Reservoir and Tucker Lake via a trail and makes for a nice long ride or walk if the mood strikes. Partridge Open Space is another example of Arvada keeping some wild open space accessible to everyone. Parking is at the west end off 80th ave. past the small town of Leyden.

Hi.  The open space are described does look inviting for mountain biking or hiking.  I believe the correct name for the area is Pattridge, named from the ranch purchased to create the open space.  See for example
