Being a full-time Realtor® and working in busy Northern Virginia, my days can easily run together. Sometimes I may forget to eat because I am juggling numerous tasks with my buyers and sellers. Talking to short sale banks to gain short sale approval for my short sale sellers, attending home inspections for my buyers and so forth.
I am blessed to work with people that value my work and treat me well. In fact, some of them down right spoil me.
Take, for instance, yesterday. I was exhausted and it was hard to hide it. I went from one drawn out home inspection experience to a home tour with a family of three. It's a miracle I didn't pass out before we made it back to the office. As we sat down to write our offer, my buyers pulled out two boxes of Girl Scout cookies. Their kindness, and the sugar, energized me.
During another offer writing session, with different buyers, I was made me a frozen pizza for dinner. It was great. They treated me like a member of the family.
And during one of Northern Virginia's snow storms this winter, I was out with a buyer for hours, had written an offer, and as I was dropping him off at his home from the tour, he asked if I would be okay driving home. I replied, "I'll be great. I'm going to stop by Starbucks, get a hot chocolate and take my time on the roads." What did he do? He sent me off with a homemade hot chocolate.
And it's not all about the food. My buyers and sellers are all aware of my Broker pre-licensing classes and routinely follow-up and ask how it's going. It's like coming home from school as a kid and having Mom ask me what I learned that day.
I have the best job in the world. It's great to work with such wonderful buyers and sellers.
