T h e T h r e e P ' s in the Garden of Life
My father who is a successful businessman always tells me that "Patience, Persistence and Perseverance will get you anything you want in life."
Patience - Planting the seeds of your business and waiting for them to grow.
Persistence - Watering the seeds, maintaining the garden and picking out weeds.
Perseverance - Continuing to maintain and grow your business "garden" in spite of hard times or difficulties.
What do you do to plant the seeds of your garden? Many people have big dreams and goals. It may start as a daydream to start a diversified small business, be your own boss, make your own schedule and get paid what you are worth for your time.
The first step is to determine what type of business you would like to have and what services you would like to offer. The next is to learn everything there is to know and to become an expert in that field of business.
Dad's "Three P's, The Garden Theory" can be applied to just about anything. Example, you want to be rated ‘Number One' on Active Rain. By joining Active-Rain you plant the seed towards your goal. Reading other profiles and posting blogs (thus earning points) equates to maintaining that goal. Continuing to update and refresh your profile despite a low score of "100" shows that you have real perseverance. With Patience, Persistence and Perseverance you will eventually meet the goal you desire, if that is what you choose.
The difference between a successful person and an ordinary person is the follow-through.
