Placitas NM Presbyterian Church

By

I took a drive today to Placitas NM to see what sights would capture my attention. I like photographing churches, so I guess it shouldn't come as any surprise that today I stopped at Placitas Presbyterian to snap a few quick shots.

Placitas Presbyterian Church

Placitas NM is a different kind of place. It's a quaint little village located just north of Albuquerque in the shadows of the Sandia Mountains. The architecture there is a blend of styles both new and old.

Placitas Presbyterian Church Front

I love the adobe style buildings of New Mexico. I like the smooth lines, I like the sense of history that the spanish style conveys. I like how the buildings blend into the desert environment.

Placitas Presbyterian Church Meditation Pond

It was nice to take a moment to sit and reflect by the meditation pond. Then it was a quick drive back to Albuquerque to a closing on a house.

Hi Rich, it looks like you had a beautiful day.  I've never seen a Church like that.  Most of ours are old and brick.  Great photos.

Hi Rich,

Your narrative makes the pictures come alive.  I appreciate the architect's honor the the area's historic style.
