Was Life Easier Back Then??

"Don't know why there's no sun up in the sky, stormy weather..."

I love listening to songs sang by Ella Fitzgerald, Nat King Cole, Frank, Louis.... all the great Blues singers of the past. Give me a cigarette and a gin and tonic on the rocks and I will sing along all night (maybe not the cigarette, but I could hold it and look cool).

Inspired by the past, I decided to throw on my fur coat hair-spray my bob and call the neighborhood photographer Clay Miller  to snap some classy photos of me and my man. We had so much fun role playing. It kind of made me wonder how can I get back to the basics? No more checking my email 100 times a day, no more rushing here and gotta go there. I think this weekend is going to be a little bit slower. I'm going to enjoy the moments as the come, one at a time. Things always seem to work out in the end, so why waste my energy worried about things I can't change? Just turn on some old Jazz and poor a stiff one "...and I think to myself, what a wonderful world."

Vanessa, Love that Valiant. My first car was a 64 Valiant. I miss it. Were the good times that much better?  Hard to say. What is safe to say though is that there were fewer distractions.

Love the pictures but do i want to be back there noooooo life is good now so many more conveniences, dishwashers, microwaves, phones without party lines, stores open past 6 and not closed Wednesday afternoon and Sundays, It is great to look back at memories and relationships but we also have to make memories today, that we can look back on. Like retro pictures then and now. How could that have happened then?

They are great photos, but I don't think they were better times.  We are so much more connected around the world with so many opportunities.  It's only getting better!
