The 3rd Lehigh Valley Ag Summit Conference will be held March 11th, 2010, at the Allentown Brew Works from 9AM until 3:15PM.  The topic will be the question on how to raise food for more than 625 million people who live in the Lehigh Valley as developments replace farms.

 

The speakers will focus on how agriculture is changing to meet the needs for local produce.

 

Also, included will be information about regulations, safety and distribution.

 

Participants will learn more about local farming efforts to bring fresh food and food products to the Lehigh Valley residents.

 

Some of the topics during this conference will be:

-  community gardens
-  creative marketing of local produce
-  a look ahead to the future of agriculture in the Lehigh Valley
-  local and regional food systems: impacts and opportunities

 

The deadline for registration is March 4th, 2010.  The cost is $25, which includes lunch.
