SHOULD RE-BLOGGING FEATURE BE REMOVED OR CHANGE ON ACTIVE RAIN

My concern for the re-blog feature to be removed or changed is due to the over re-blogging of post by some. In years past, post were content filled posting and from personal experiences. I believe in order to get back to strong content which is great for Google is to remove or change this feature on Active Rain. I can fully understand when a blogger gets writers block. In Real Estate blogging there are so many issues we can write about which can help your business grow. Active Rain has produce a great platform for increasing your business production even in this market.

When Bob Stewart put in place Re-blogging , here on Active Rain he spell out many great ideas and feature of  re-blogging.  The main complaint I have of this feature is that some blogger's here are using the re-blog as a point scheme. Not adding to the conversation anything just re-blogging the post. Sometimes the post is worth the re-blog. On the other hand you wonder what they are up too.

Before you re-blog a post ask yourself  "How will this Help your business" and "How will be seen by your followers".  The best advantage to a re-blog post is for your follower to gain knowledge through the re-blog. A disadvantage that I have concerns about is what if the re-blog information is not accurate.
The change I am referring to is to remove points for re-blogging.

I have two questions here about re-blogging:

  1. How does re-blogging help with SEO?
  2. Should the Re-Blogging feature be removed or changed?

I believe it is good for business if used properly.  A well placed reBlog can increase the awareness of issues and upcoming events.  As for points Reblogs only give 25 points to the rebloger so I don't think it is for that reason.  I believe that some are using it because they don't know what to write and others like the one I experienced yesterday are trying to get a blog that moves up in google rankings with a blog that has a lot of content.  I don't think it will help them with business though.  They should not do away with reBlogs here but there should be some rules about filling up a blog with only reblogged content.  From very snowy New York, have a great day

A re-blogged post is not supposed to get any points, unless there is a significant amount of new content. So flag it if you think it's being abused.

Frank I am suprised that you never received more comments on this one.  I wonder how many people are reading this stuff these days.

I think that the reblog function is helpful in spreading the word from one set of subscribers to another (we all read different people, right?).  That said, I turned off the reblog option on my blog.  If someone wants to use something I wrote, they'll ask...or show up in my copyscape report :)

The Re-Blog feature is a good one.  I do not think it should be removed.
