Mission Accomplished

Everything "fit", but nothing "works"    Everything "fits", but nothing "works"

My Company was contacted by this Client to come and evaluate her current furniture situation.  The problem was, that ALL of the furniture was BRAND NEW!  That's right, it had just been purchased within the past few months.  The problem was that she had trusted another Interior designer who had selected pieces that were far too large for the space.  Once the Interior Designer realized her error, she essentially disappeared leaving the Home Owner to fend for herself to try to make everything "work" or "fit" into the space.  As you can see,  the Home Owner just put everything where she thought that it would "fit",  but nothing here "works".  She was ready to buy ALL NEW  furniture a second time just so that she could actually live in her own home.

Platinum Home Staging, Inc.    Platinum Home Staging, Inc.

Re-Designed to Perfection

Our Team was able to see past the large scale furniture, rearranged the pieces to make them functional and saved her from wasting potentially thousands of dollars on her previous purchases. Pulling just 1 set of tables from an adjacent room, 2 lamps which were in a closet and the buffet which was shoved up against the staircase; this room to now beautiful, inviting and FUNCTIONAL.  This Home Owner was thrilled: Mission Accomplished!

Going back to comment #11: Thanks, Richard.  The "other" Designer had actually planned for the buffet to go IN the dining room WITH that monsterous dining table set.  When nothing fit as she had "planned", she bailed and the the before pictures were the only thing that the Owner could come up with when left to her own devices.  So bringing that great buffet back into the room as a focal was key to anchoring and giving it that "wow" factor. Besides, it's a GREAT piece!

Thank you, Cynthia, we try ;)

Yes, Michelle, now she can afford the French Doors and drapes =D

"...putting the fun in functionality", you're too cute, Jackson!

Wow, Virgina! Meeoooowww!!! ;)  However, yes, I agree

Outstanding job, Connie.  That was beautiful furniture -- I'd take it any day : )  Great job repositioning things and finding a great focal point for the living room seating area via the console. -- Tanya in Montreal

Connie:

It is amazing what you can do when you have an eye for interior design.  The re-arrangement made all of the difference.

Connie, I am so glad that this client thought of calling you and asking for your help, though I wished she called you first to begin with. I also hope that she reported the previous designer to BBB or any association that she was involved with. Any contracts?

I am not surprised that you were able to use your skills and make it all workout. This is not your first time and it won't be your last time. Well done.

Connie,

Bravo - a professional stepping in to clean up what an unprofessional designer wouldn't accept responsibility for.  I am sure the homeowner was thrilled to have you come in & assure her you could work with the furniture she thought was a lost cause.

Big sigh of relief for homeowner and Shame on the designer who bailed.

Thanks, Christine.  She was actually referred to us through our partnership with Pottery Barn.

Thanks, Claudette, Ginger & Kathy. Anyone could have easily walked in and taken advantage of the situation, but saving her money will only reap bigger refferals ;)

I have no idea if she contacted anyone about the "other" designer, Shirin.  I think she was just so besides herself that it clouded any other thought.

Oo, I LIKE that, Cathy! The "staging fairy":  I want wings, a tiara & a wand!!!

You bet, Sharon & David. It is very rewarding to know we were able to help them.  Some home owner don't have the "vision" to see the potential that comes to easily to some. I'm still wondering what the husband is thinking though onve he got home. I'll have to call and ask ;)
