George Souto of McCue Mortgage and Dan Cummings

My streak of running in the rain continued tonight with a few spectators on the sidelines to witness my slower than expected finish time.   About 4:00pm the thunder started rumbling and the rains began to fall. I was hoping it would pass but when I arrived on Main Street in Middletown it was pouring.

Normally my wife does not attend any of the races but she planned on hanging out with George Souto at the festival.  Due to the heavy rain and slightly behind schedule arrival we didn't have a chance for photo's before the run but managed a few at the end.

George thanks for coming out, hope you had fun, maybe next year I'll watch you and Sandra run...

LOL!  Dan, I'm mostly packed, can't get away from the computer!  I keep thinking of one more thing to do.  Like check on Dan this time!  I'll have computer for a while, I expect to blog on the road at least once, with lots of pictures.  The bride said go for it -- I will!  Her almost-hubby is a NASCAR mechanic and I expect there will be LOTS of Bud Light at the reception.  A fun time will be had by all!

Suzanne... Can you think of anything better than TWO of me....!  LOL    Actually just playing around with techniques... See I've fallen off the top 100 list and figured I needed a lift...Dan Cummings - Middletown 5k Race in the Rain

Sarah... Are you a beer drinker?   Picture you more as the designated driver.....

Susie...Your chant was heard... This was the photo a few minutes before the race when it was pouring.  I usually look for a race a month, yesterday was my 8th this year.  Five of them were the 5k's, two five milers and my first half marathon which is 13.1 miles.  Local depends on the definition... Connecticut is a small state so in Florida terms it may all be local.  Typically they are within a half hour of my home but I have run a few in Maine and intend to run others in the future.

Sandra... You can do your own post from the sidelines... Just don't post any pictures that make me look fat or Suzanne will throw me out of the Fitness Group....

Congrats Dad, you didn't tell us what the length of race you had.  In Miami summer month, I welcomed the rain (if it wasn't pelting).  Do you have children? I took my daughter (then 10) to do a few 5Ks with me, she hated it at first but now it is a source of pride for her.

Hi Dan,
I think the song goes "Just walking in the rain" --guess for you it's "Just running in the rain". LOL.  Running is not my thing but admire those that do.  I do workout but running ---No, No.

Janie... Is that a Typo or you saying I'm old????  LOL    This was a 5k race and yes I have three boys, one of which is still home and I have tried to get him interested but guess it isn't COOL... He is 15, played freshman Lacrosse and running would be perfect off season training but as I say Running with the Old Man ain't on a teenagers to do list.

Cynthia... I still take some walking breaks during the run.... Especially in the heavy humid air...

Dan, I don't think that Sandra is talking about the Runner's Rear.  I told her to sneak some pictures of you getting out of those wet cloths ......... LOL

By the way when you click on the "Click Here To Follow Me" picture it kicks you out of this blog and on to one of the main pages.

Not beer, wine. (Or whatever, just not beer!)  I will probably cut loose and get myself in all kinds of trouble.  The Bud Light is because the groom works for Kurt Bush, or however you spell his name.  (Shame on me, I don't even follow NASCAR and I won't recognize him if he's there.)

Dan, I'm quite impressed by you!  I'm sure I've been banished from Suzanne's group.  I would probably be rooting for you from the sidelines while munching my soggy Doritos.

George... Guess I have reached a certain level of fame if the paparazzi is invading the streets of Middletown...

Sarah...There are not many NASCAR drivers or other sports figures that I would recognize either.

Stephanie...Time and training is all it takes... A few years ago I couldn't do a lap around a track.

Sandra... You'll need a new get rich quick scheme....

Maggie... I thought you were in training to do a 5k with Chris, still walking?
