In the Long Island Suffolk County RE Market, most savy consumers should realize that the time is now. If your thinking I'm gonna wait. Waiting may no be the best choice. Time is of the essence !
According to the Multi Listing Service of Long Island. MLSLI, January figures show signs of a balanced housing market as home prices rebound and inventory levels trend downward. “The extension of the tax credit is still providing a strong incentive for buyers to enter the market and coupled with favorable financing and product selection, support a continuation of an active housing market well into Spring.”
Here's the bottom line,.. the most optimal time to concider home ownership is "now". I hate to say it, but time really is running out. The "Newly extended tax credit, (is not so newly and will probably not be extended again.)
The deal with this tax credit is you must be in contract by April 30th 2010 and closed by June 30th 2010.
