Can you tell the difference between a legitimate website and one that is a scam? Test your security knowledge with this McAfee Site Advisor test. It is quite interesting and enlightening:

http://www.siteadvisor.com/quizzes/phishing_0707/

To take the test, view the two pictures displayed.  One is real. The other is a scam.  You can click on the sample images for a better view of the page...You will need to view each of the examples carefully to determine which one is the real site and which is the scam. When you've completed the test, your results will be displayed with an explanation of each of the ten examples. In the process you'll learn a great deal about how scammers can fool so many people.

A big thank you to goes to fellow Virtual Assistant, Anna Baron, for sharing this link with me. I only scored 70% which I wasn't very happy about considering I spend my day on the Internet, but I learned a lot. A common thread through the bogus sites is poor grammar and spelling. I will now proof websites more carefully when determining to visit them or not.

Hi Ruth Ann!  I failed to get this posted on ActiveRain earlier this week but am glad that you got the word out to others in ActiveRain.  I was blown away that I only got an 80 - I thought I knew all the tricks so it was quite a humbling experience.  To your success!  Anna
