Life's Little Pleasures

By
Real Estate Agent with Future Home Realty

I'll admit it from the get-go....I am a glass "full" kind of person. Sure I have my share of heartache and sadness, but I am always hopeful of better things just around the corner.

I am spending time today catching up on my paperwork (never ending!) and opened a drawer and found... an unopened bag of dark chocolate M & M's. They were a nice surprise!

Then I remembered yesterday evening as I was sitting on the patio and the sky was all pink and yellow - almost sepia toned (probably pollution but who cares?). My Mom used to call that "the gloaming", and it was a beautiful sight!

Earlier this morningGloaming courtesy of Flickr, I found both of my Beagles AND the cat lying at the food of my bed sound asleep, all lined up like sausages with their sides touching. My kitty was in the middle and it brought a smile to my face.

I had to make a quick trip to my office this morning and when I started up the car I noticed that someone (my husband) had filled up my gas tank. It was almost empty yesterday and I did not ask him to do that. What a great way to start the day!

I've learned through the years that if I just stay mindful and "in the moment", life provides lots of small pleasures each day that serve to fill that glass to the rim.

Look around you and pay attention. What are some of your small but important daily pleasures?

Peggy - about 17 years ago I lived in one of the condos on Cypress Hill Circle (off Sheldon Rd.) and the land behind the complex was still farm land.  There were some pretty sunsets from the upstairs windows.  I liked the condo, hated the area.  LOL  I don't do that heat and humidity well at all.

Great post - your optimism is refreshing!

Hi Carol, we moved to Citrus Park about the time you were moving out, LOL!  You wouldn't recognize the area now.  We have a great biG upscale mall on Citrus Park Drive (used to be Sheldon), lots of nice restaurants, a toll road that takes you downtown, the changes over the last 17/18 years have been amazing!  It's no longer a sleepy little town and there's a LOT of business going on in this area.  I still live off of Sheldon in a subdivision called Fawn Ridge.  Was that here when you were around?  But I know what you mean about the heat and humidity.  (At least I don't have to wear suits, panty hose and heels anymore - that was murder in the summertime!)  Thanks for commenting!

For me it is sitting on my patio with a cup of coffee (that my husband made for me), newspaper and our lab Josie( who I have to throw a tennis ball to between sips of coffee) .Life cant get much better that that.

Vicki, I know what you mean.  I'm a caffeine fiend and have two Beagles so sitting on the patio with coffee and pets around is bliss.  Thanks!

Pleasure #2...

Lying in bed in the early morning hours recording Blog Boy snoring and making other bodily noises we need not mention here.

Get a room? Yah. I could use my own room :)

Note to self...Do not light matches in the bedroom.

Okay. You can delete all that if you want Peggy. Temptation got the better of me :)

TLW...ROAR!

Peggy-Ahhh, you are expressing how I feel today.

Things that make me smile-

In the mornings...I have 2 vistors in the bathroom with me, my cats sammy and max.

or I wake up to my alarm and my hubby and I are holding hands in our sleep.

At work, when I come in and my computer is already on or everytime I go to the coffee maker and I don't have to make the coffee it's already there!  (I rarely make the coffee)

Today I drove by Logans..in Orlando....huge smile....

I could go on and on........
