Town of Simsbury honored for its historic aesthetic
Simsbury, Connecticut - The town of Simsbury recieved an honor; being named one of the 2010 Distinctive Destinations by the National Trust for Historic Preservation.
The National Trust for Historic Preservation has named Simsbury one of the 2010 Dozen Distinctive Destinations," said Alicia Leuba of Nat'l Trust for Historic Preservation.
It's the first award Connecticut has gotten regarding an honor from the Trust. It means the unique New England town has something your average tourist destination does not.
The Simsbury 1820 house is an example of Simsbury's charm. A beautiful inn that's hosted events for two presidents, the Farmington River for kayaking and canoeing and many area trails where you can hike and bike on the Farmington Canal Heritage Trail.
Simsbury has been chosen among eleven others. The others range from Alaska to Alabama.
