Great post. I love old barns and old stores. It reminds me of a forgotten time. My wife and I honeymooned on Lake Fontana/Nantahala, not too far from Murphy. A beautiful area. Thanks for sharing!

There are some neat old barns, with their painted advertisements depict America's past in many ways.

Thank you

Fontana/Nantahala is a beautiful area and has so much to offer, Joseph. We actually just worked with a great young couple that were celebrating their one year anniversary in Nantahala.

American advertising at its best, Scott. I hate to think of a time when there won't be anymore left standing.

Do you think Pepsi paid the big bucks for their local marketing :)

Wow, I'm guessing this barn was along a busy stretch of road in its day. I don't think I have ever seen anything like that around here. Buildings in downtown Portland, but never on a barn.

Any spare space is a good place to advertise. Nice bright picture

We have a lot of barns in this area, but they are too far off the road for advertising.

Hi, Lee and Carol. What a great picture! I LOVE old barns. This is so much more appealing than a billboard!

Hopefully they got a "good penny" for that prime location, Jane.

Don't you just love the old pumps outside, Todd?

Thanks Ellie. They took advantage of the busy intersection :)

Most here too, Rebecca. We just love the old barns.

Yes, Leslie, much more appealing and it helped out the farmer too.

Gee, maybe you can paint your info on the other side of the building.  :-)

Lee and Carol,

Such an important part of Americana that is slowly disappearing. Nice to see still. :)
