Al and Peggy - I hope that Joey gets well very soon. It sounds that he is in very good care with your vet.
I hope Joey makes a quick recovery and continues to bring you joy for many, many years to come. Pets become an important part of our lives and it's hard to handle when they become ill. The best to your entire family!
Ed the pull on the old heart strings is so strong, because you are so helpless in times like this.
Sorry for your loss Andrea and hope pooch stays strong for you. Thanks for your concern Andrea.
We do now wonder about these cat foods Liz. Too much phosporous or something they said. Joes and well Simon too will have to be on special dietary food now.
Thanks Gerry, we just want him home. Went to visit him and he was looking so small with a bright orange bandages from his paw up to his shoulder holding the tubes in. He tried to make his way over to our fingers stretched through the cage for his rubbies. Gave pitiful little meows. It was hard.
Marc, we think he is in good hands, Northtown Veterinary clinic is reputable in the City.
We do too Wanda...today will be a long day waiting for the test results now...this must be how our clients feel waiting for offer results.
Hi Al and Peggy,
Those who don't absolutely think of their pets as part of the the family can't understand the stress that happens when one of them gets sick.
I wish you all the best. I'm sure Joey will be fine and Simon will be very glad to see his brother home.
Thanks Pam, we know people without pets think we pet owners are crazy, but they are very much a part of the family and our everyday life.
Indeed they are.
I've always had pets: dogs, cats, hamsters, guinea pigs, birds and even an iguana named Fluffiggy - and each and every one of them has enriched my life. We can learn a lot from animals.
Thanks so much for the giggles Pam, (well needed) Fluffiggy??? Where did you come up with a name like that? They do enrich your life Pam, can't imagine life without one actually.
Never having an iguana before we were torn between two names. I wanted to call him "Fluffy" for the irony and the kids - who at the time didn't seem to understand irony - wanted to call him Iggy. How boring is that?
So, we compromised and Fluffiggy it was :)
That is way too cute...see compromises do work! Haven't heard a better name for an iguana that that!
Thanks so much for sharing! You did have a very tough day! Cute story about the naming of Fluffiggy, too!
Hi Al & Peggy,
Sorry to hear about Joey. Hope he gets on the road to wellness soon.
Hi Al & Peggy - Wishing Joey a speedy recovery! I love all kitties but Siamese cats are my favorite.
Al-Peg-I am so sorry about your cat!! There is nothing worse than when your animal family member isn't feeling well. I hope your kitty makes a speedy recovery!
We know Dagny the name made us laugh.
Chris, he seems to be doing well, but you know, he never seemed to act differently when he was sick, which was the problem!
Before we were allowed to bring them home (they were only 4 weeks old) Sharon, everyone told us we were nuts to get Siamese, but they have been the best. So friendly and true family participants. That's why we went nuts when they whisked the little one into surgery so fast!
Thanks Debra, looks like he is on the mend, and hopefully it doesn't come back!
Thanks everyone for your support it meant the world to us, Joey seems to be doing fine, he's back home and already playing with his brother Simon. Now if we could just find an easy way to get his medicine in him!
Fluffiggy cracked us right up Dagny!
He seems to be doing ok Chris, thanks, but then he seemed fine even when he was sick, which was half the problem!
People warned us against Siamese Sharon, but they have been the best!
Thanks Debra, how's your little one been doing?
Thanks everyone for your support, it meant the world to us. Joey is home now and already playing with his brother Simon. Now if only we knew an easy way to give him his medication!
My kitty is good thank you! Getting bigger and more loveable!
Glad to hear that Joey is doing better.
I don't know if his medicine is liquid or pill, or if his diet will allow, but Global Pet Foods has a product called Greenies Pill Pockets. They are hollow treats to hide the medicine in and pets love 'em.
Whenever my kitties needs meds, I covered the pill in either butter or cheezwhiz and they slipped right down, no problem. Good luck!
Glad to hear it Debra!
Thanks Pam! Gonna go to Global and check it out, we both have tonnes of scratches, little Joey is not impressed with our inadequacies!
Oh have that on hand and Joey loves butter, so will give it a try tonight, thanks Susan!
Let us know how it works out for you :)
