US Wins Gold in four Man Bobsled just minutes ago.  From Vancouver, Steve Holcomb and the Night Train win the four man bobsled competition.  This is the first time the United States has won the 4 man Bobsled event since 1948 at St. Moritz.  The bobsled track in Vancouver is at Whistler and is touted to be the fastest track ever in Olympic history.  Bob Costas says that Holcomb and the Night Train won the competition because of their fast start times.

Congratulations to the US Four Man Bobsled Team -- we are so proud of you!!!

Thank goodness Steve Holcomb's family was able to be there!  I don't know if you heard, but his mom got taken by scammers.  She paid $8,,000 up front for a place to stay and there was no place.  It was a scam and the family had no place to stay.  When word got out, locals offered their homes and Proctor and Gamble gave them money to cover their losses.  Others offered them tickets to events, and they wound up grateful and very embarrassed to be given so much.  But the best part must be that they got to watch Steve do great things and win a gold medal!

I just realized that the Olympics are over, yet I don't remember reading about any closing ceremony. I found NBC's coverage to be dismal.

Hi Susan, what a touching story.

Hi Olga, glad you saw the ceremony.

Hey Rick, it was a long time coming.

Hey Russel, I still haven't watched some of the Olympics I recorded.  What happened to pairs figure skating?  Did it morph into ice dancing or is that something different?
