It may have seemed like a long time ago that the Homebuyer Tax Credits were extended and expanded and now all of the sudden we have come to the last two months to get under contract - settlement may occur by the end of June.
No one really knows if this will be the last time for these credits but there are some things to consider if a home purchase plan is in your near future.
- Home prices are on the rebound and in many cities have shown price appreciation
- Interest rates have been kept low for some time and speculation is that this will end soon
- Inventory is still high, giving many choices within the same search parameters
Don't delay! Speak with your Realtor about moving your purchase plan forward to get your $8000 or $6500 tax credit. You will be happy that you did!
