That didn't long. Last week at Fontana, Jimmie Johnson drove his Lowe's 48 Chevrolet into Victory Lane. It was the 48th win in his 9 year career. 48 for 48.
Well, today, he won at Las Vegas, making it 49 for 48. Can't do much better than that - back-to-back wins for the reigning 4-time, 4-in-a-row Champion.
The nice thing about this victory is that there were a series of adjustments and decisions to be made - as there are in any arace, and as there are with any of the drivers and teams.
This was a total team effort that resulted in a victory after some of the early going wasn't exactly to their liking. Undoubtedly, there will be many more victories coming to this team over the years.
Make choices, make decisions, make it better. The same goes for sales. Adjust and adapt on the fly. You won;t always get the response the way you anticipated it, and your customer won't always understand your questions. It's time then to make adjustments on the fly and keep going.
We don't have the benefit of a timeout or a pitstop to make necessary adjustments. We don't have a crew chief feeding us information in our earpiece. We don't have a team to service our needs. It's just us, so we had better be prepared to deal with situations as they arise - or miss the opportunity to possibly produce a sale.
If we haven't made our 48th sale (or maybe even our first one) yet, there's plenty to look forward to. If that one is already in the books, it's time to look forward to the next one, and the one after that.
