Why Active Rain is a priority in my life!

I stumbled upon Active Rain two years ago when I literally had no idea what blogging was. I set up a profile and kind of poked around. I started blogging, and getting comments. Since then I have become a regular here, and I want you to know why!

Active Rain connects me to the broad world of real estate professionals and it is truly amazing to feel connected to people all over the country!
Active Rain is very therapeutic.I can share my challenges and triumphs in real estate and gain insight from others as they share theirs. It is therapeutic just to write about my listings, experiences and reading what is going on in the market all over the country makes me a better Realtor!
Active Rain is very good for business! I got a referral just TODAY from Active Rain! This agent said that reading my profile was very helpful, and he chose me to refer some great clients who will be relocating here soon. Yipee! My listings get quite a few views on the virtual tours I post here on Active Rain, so all around, Active Rain gives me great exposure!
Active Rain is very educational!There are dozens of posts that relate to pertinent issues for our industry. While I don't get " clock hours" for all of the reading I do here on Active Rain, I find a huge amount of great information here on ALL spectrum's of real estate from financing to staging!

I am truly glad that I found Active Rain one cold Januray day in 2008. It has enriched both my personal and professional life.

Blogging has become apart of my business plan, and is a priority to me because it has added alot to my life.

BethAnn, Yes you summarized the benefits of Active Rain and I agree it's lots of run and quite addictive (in a good way!).

ActiveRain kicks off the start of my day and oftentimes, what I read in the morning will come into play during the day.

Beth Ann. When I have out of state referrals I always use Active Rain. It is a wonderful tool to convey what kind of person you are. The relationships that have been created are also worth their weight in gold!

It is a great resource for information and helps my business a great deal!

Beth Ann, I agree with this post for sure. I came on board a little after you did, I think, and I get so much from Active Rain. I think I've learned more technology as a result of AR than anywhere else. That would be enough to make it worthwhile but the encouragement and support are incredible.

There are lots of benefits from blogging, and the fact that you get to share your thoughts with fellow realtors is a huge upside

AR offers me lots of information, food for thought, a fun place to banter, and a way to blog my way to the top. I've enjoyed adding it to my tools of the trade.

making blogging part of the business plan is key. That is how I managed to keep my business blog going since 2005. A post a day, every day.

It is a nice mix of friendship, business, and education. Just don't be an addict and take time from actual business lol. AR is an amazing place no doubt.

I signed up for AR 2 years ago to try and drive traffic and real estate pros to our new home sales centers. Short term it didn't work so I stopped using it. I logged back in a couple weeks ago and added it to my business plan. So far it's working great! I've been getting a lot of interaction, Google juice, and even a few client inquires. I'm also learning so I wish I had given it a longer shot the first time around.

I couldn't agree more. You know a great thing when you stumble on something and it opens up your life. I have made great friends here and gotten and given referrals to people I trust. It is a great community. Once in a while, a few bad apples, but like every family, we have to take the good with the bad. Overall, this is one of the best networking places I have ever had the pleasure to join.

Many people don't realize that AR is very good for business. Many don't get how blogging works to build business. Or they get it- but want it to be "easy" and just throw up blogs without much thought or reason. If it were easy - everyone would do it, but a well thought out blog is wonderful for business.

I like your ruby slippers. That would make a nice promo piece/Farm Mailer, too.

I love the educational factor as well - I'm a training junkie anyway, and a tech junkie - plus AR keeps my mind on real estate - I work at home quite a bit and it's easy to kind of float away sometimes.

I agree active rain is a really great platform. A friend who has been blogging for over three years suggested that I check out AR ...so I started blogging on active rain in November - I decided to make active rain a part of my business plan for 2010. I have learned a lot from others, gotten more exposure on the internet and have had several buyers reach out to me for assistance in home buying - it's really awesome!!!
