The more I understand people the more I love my dog…

It's amazing about ones knowledge about people.  Take a look at the medical profession.  They can do wondrous things now compared to the last century.  Just imagine what they will be able to do five-ten or twenty years from now.  How about flight?  Just think of the gifts the astronauts have given us through space technology and then there is other things among them too numerous to mention but you get the idea.

Anyway have you ever given thought about your clients?  To get to know them and understand them sometimes just sometimes when you encounter the one client you wish you have never met.  Do you now come on admit it do you ever give thought to the heading about loving your dog.  If you're not a dog lover than your cat, horse, cow or whatever you wish even to your pet rock.

I have had clients that no matter what you did for them is just was not good enough.  Ever fire you client?   I have and I know those of you who would say "Hey it may get you a call because of the sign" it still was not worth it.  So I ask you as you get to understand people and their motives and thinking do you love your dog?  All they ask is for a pat on the head or a belly rub food and water.  They are not judgmental, love you glad to see you when you get home and they don't gripe if you're a couple of minutes late.

Have a great day listing and selling remember "It's a great day to buy or sell a home."

your soo right, there is just no pleasing some people. Firing a client can be a very freeing experience. There is no reason to have somebody bad-mouth you just because THEY will not listen to you.

I love my dog!!!

What a silly thing to say !  Actually... what makes much more sense is... "the more I understand people, the more I love my CAT !"  There... I feel better now.  And... my cat, Mollie T, made me do this.. LOL.

Congrats on writing a great post on the world's most lovable subject -- dogs. You simply cannot go wrong with a canine connection.

James, that is why dogs are not into real estate, they are smart and have a nose for good people!

It sure is hard to fire clients when you have put so much time and effort in, but most times I have found that when it gets to the point that I'm considering this- it's best to cut my losses...and I sooo love my dog!! he always thinks I'm awesome and never has a cross word for me :-)

Stratching behind an ear doesn't work on customers. Maybe some are just off their meds.

James, great blog! And so true! I have met some crazy people, guess what some were family and they were the craziest. Let's just say one of my first closings was a client/in-law side of the family that showed up to the closing drunk, I still get teased about that by some people in my office. I think it makes us better agents though. We learn from the mistakes we make with them and know how to handle or avoid the next one or at least see them coming a mile away!!!!

Without my dog (and my husband=credit where credit is due) I could not do this job.  The beagle ear therapy gets me through many, many crazy real estate happenings.

Yeah, we've all been there. Dogs are easy to please, loyal, and appreciate whenever you do for them. I wish more people were like them.

Your title says it ALL.  People certainly are strange creatures to try and figure out.  Dogs, on the other hand ... no problem.  I do love my cat too - independent free spiri that she is!  Demands very little, and never complains or criticizes.

I'll take our two mutts over many clients.  Neither one has never lied to me.

Cats want love too. However, it has to be on their terms. So I guess they're kind of like real estate clients.

I'm actually not a big pet lover, but I've seen how much joy they bring my wife so I understand your analogy.  However, even though I don't love being around pets, I would rather spend weeks on end with the absolute worst breed of pet than with some of my less desirable clients.  I totally understand your angst towards certain types of buyers and sellers, and yes, i've fired plenty of them.
