With 14 gold medals and a heart stopping win for their hockey team, Canadians could not have wished for a better ending to the Olympic games especially after a death of a luger before the games started and a very slow beginning in capturing medals.

My college roommate introduced me to hockey. Needless to say it's an intense sport. I like this description of hockey -"A fast body-contact game played by men with clubs in their hands and knives laced to their feet."

Most people think of blood on ice when they think of hockey. True, but not in the Olympics!  I, along with most of the world, was on the edge of my seat watching the U.S. and Canada go into overtime. Young Sidney Crosby put an end to the nail biting game at 7:40 into overtime.

Sad that we lost that game? Sure. Happy for Canada? Absolutely.

Hopefully, the NHL will agree to participate in the 2014 Olympics in Russia.

I think Hockey is the most exciting part of the whole Winter Olympic experience.  Ever since I was a kid and the US won in the 1980 Olympics at Lake Placid, I have been a fan of Olympic Hockey.  I am glad to see Canada win it this time on their home soil.  Two very awesome teams hit the ice yesterday, and the fact that they pushed the game into overtime on the Gold medal game demonstrates the sheer will of both teams to win gold.  Although the US lost the game, they have a lot to be proud of.

Bill, I think it will, but the NHL is talking about backing out of 2014 because it disrupts their season and costs them money.
