Polar Bears & Dogs vs Banks & Distressed Homeowners -- in honor of National Polar Bear Day (yesterday)

After reading a blog article about ten distressed homeowners who have sued Bank of America for failing to keep their promise in loan modifications, I just wonder why banks, who are getting beat up by the media, aren't doing something to change the public view of their behavior.

Apparently ten distressed homeowners filed the civil suit in Ohio last week because Bank of America associates led them to believe that the homeowners' payments would be modified, after a very long process of approval for the change. The homeowners were promised that the documents would arrive in the mail shortly which would make the temporary modificatons go into effect after signatures were obtained.

After months of anxiety in the waiting process, the homeowners decided to attempt to make it happen through legal action. The law suit says "As a result, Plaintiffs are living with the daily trauma of imminent foreclosure and loss of their homes..."

If polar bears and dogs can get along and care for each other, why can't banks take that lead?

"Bank of America is committed to helping customers facing financially difficulties remain in their home," says a Bank of America associate.
