Yep. A good spa massage. Everyone can do with that. And then a lovely dinner out. That would be my suggestion.
HA. April 15 is when I file an automatic extension. I file by October 15.
I always feel anxiety during tax time until they are finished. Like Lenn, there were a few years when I was so busy in the spring, that I filed extensions. But it also extended a certain amount of anxiety along with it!
Hi Tammy, I never like tax time, except for the "olden days" when I knew I would be getting a refund. Congratulations on getting everything done! As for the birthday how about a weekend getaway?
Jane- A local spa just began to allow couples... that's a great idea.
Lenn- MY FY ends 6/30 so my corp extention is until the 15th of this month (so I'm really not done, but today I mailed off the 1099s and w2s to the goverment and of course my FUTA.
Myrl- I hate that anxiety too. I vote for Fair Tax and let's be done with it.
Mary- sounds good, but would take weeks of planning. He isn't off weekends and well... lately seems like I can't leave the office much either. And spur of the moment doesn't work because we have to plan for the zoo we host in our house. Maybe I can get Abigail to take care of the pups for a day and we can have a fun day trip...
Ha! I knew about the triple double bookkeeper ! - it's one of my party favorites !!!!
... good for you for wrapping up taxes, and now go enjoy that great partner of yours ;o)
Happy Birthday Donald !!!
I have all my tax info ready....now off to the accountant. A happy birthday to your Donald.
Hi Tammy ~ As the daughter of a CPA April 15th has always been a holiday of sorts in my family. I love the close to midnight runs to the post office. When I lived in Connecticut they even had entertainment for the people in line. And the Cambridge post office is always packed with fellow procrastinators. But I'm with Lenn - the extension on April 15th, and then I look forward to October 15th to file - a minor holiday but a holiday nonetheless.
Liz
Sheldon- Should have known you would know. :)
Rebecca- Seriously? Oh my gosh. I used to be one of those organized people.
Liz- that what's my mom did too, but she has never been in line before midnight. If it was to the post office by 5, too darn bad.
Tammy ~ Oh my, we must be kindred spirits. I too, get all worked up having to do taxes. Just gearing up makes me ill. But, on another note, you are the only other woman I know (besides myself) who has received a gun as a birthday present! OMG, LOL! As for him... I would say, buy him some bullets for his B'Day so he can take you to the shooting range!
Melinda- One year I got him a log splitter, one year a chain saw. And you know that saying about taking the boy out of the city, but not the city out of the boy, well that ain't true. He's "converted" fully. And has MORE than enough ammo to ... have a war.
Tammy....I know the tax stuff is a real drag. Thankfully my husband takes care of all of it - Corporate, LLC and Personal - and when it comes back from the CPA I just sign. I really have it good. lol - Happy birthday to Donald.
Carra- Funny, that's my Donald's job at our house with taxes. He puts his W-2 on the frig and then just signs the return when I bring it home to him.
Hi Tammy...gotta agree with both....not in love with March basket ball or IRS !! thanks for the comment
