This park is special for so many reasons but you need to read on "Know more" as to why it means so much to so many families of youth here in the Santa Clarita Valley. So this happens "No more."
Some Parks are named after local politicians or other worthy individuals but this park just gets right to the point it is Central Park here in Santa Clarita California. Believe it or not, it is centrally located here in Santa Clarita hence the name "Central" Park Go figure?.
This is just one of many parks throughout the Santa Clarita Valley and I thought I would start with this one because of a special attribute this park has that other neighboring parks do not.
Notably the dedicated area devoted to the memory of local youth who have died prematurely in auto related accidents throughout our valley. Know more = No More. It is a reminder that we cannot take those we love for granted. It is also a reminder to our youth that they are not invincible especially behind the wheel. Watch the video of the Santa Clarita Youth Memorial by clicking this link.
I walked throughout this area reading the names of those who were memorialized there. I could not help but think of my own daughter who is about the same age as many there in the park "Forever young". To learn more about the young lives who are memorialized here, Click SCV Forever young. It is a reminder to me and all parents here in the valley that we cannot take our kids for granted. That we should always give them a big hug and a "I love you" as they leave each day.
Next time your at Central Park take a moment to locate this memorial, take your child with you. Read the names and ages on the plaques. Talk about what they would do if faced with some of the decisions these youths made. Do not pretend that things like this do not happen in your world, they do. Make sure you KNOW MORE before you leave. NO MORE
Now that I have depressed everyone, I also want to share a program put together by our Sheriff Department to combat this problem of teen accidents. It is called the STTOP program. The way it works is if you see a teenager driving erratically or too fast you can contact the Sheriff department by phone or on-line give them details and they will take it from there. Click on the STTOP sign to the left to learn more about the program in more detail.
Central Park is also full of life and filled with great events as well notably the "Concerts in the Park" series (see schedule) for the next performer on Saturday night this summer.
Another "Hot" thing about this park is it's a "hotspot" no not necessarily the weather, but for your laptop or wireless devices. Now "That's Hot"
There is always something to do here at "Central Park" in Santa Clarita, California whether your new to the area, thinking of moving here, a local, or just visiting, enjoy the park and all it has to offer.

Dear Pablo,
Thanks for putting the effort into the blog about Central Park in the Santa Clarita Valley. There are many parks around and I would not have known how much Central Park has to offer me and my family unless you took the time to write about it from a "parent" perspective.
I have 2 young daughters and I run a home based business (wireless at a park is a great benefit) so this park is just right for us!
Thanks,
Nick
