Reading an Electrical Meter for Closing.

I was recently asked by escrow to read the electrical meter for the closing of a transaction of a Shortsale in Seattle, WA.

Often times Escrow will have this done by the Utility company before closing, but in this case, The seller (the Bank) and the new buyer needed to have this done.

With the information on how to read this meter, Can you write your comments on what you read this at?

First time I've heard of that request. Usually they shut the electricty off just before close.

I read 91398, but who knows. I've read many a meter, but I'm not usually the one who pays the bill at closing, so I don't know if my readings have been right.

Carol, It looks like 91398, but since the fourth meter has not yet reached or surpassed the 0 . it is still 912XX. Good try.

Why do you need to have this info in the closing? I don't understand. Here the transfer of service is clearly a separate activity.

I get 91398... huu? I'm getting all kinds of unusual requests from out of town title companies today. The local title companies take care of EVERYTHING.

It's the smaller escrow company who requested this work. and a bunch of non sense stuff that was asked of me. NOTE to self and other realtors, When taking a listing, input that you want the title and escrow to be at the company of XXXXX title and escrow, and Maya, it is not 91398
