Are Technical Problems Keeping Your Rain From Pouring?

Most of us will agree that Active Rain is a wonderful tool for real estate agents, lenders, inspectors and the like, as we try to expand our business and move forward in the dawn of wonderful new technology.

But even the best community is only as good as its weakest link. And right now the technical problems that we have been experiencing here at Active Rain (can you say Proxy Error?) have been causing major frustration and heartache.

Now I am wondering if it's costing me business.

I talked to a client the other day who contacted me for the first time even though they have been reading my blog for awhile. They called because they wondered if I was stopping the blog because I was quitting the business!

They have been getting error messages while trying to access my blog for several days.

I assured them that I was here to stay. =)

Aaron, I thought it was just my computer and my internet connection.  Glad to hear I'm not the only one.

I know. I spent two hours on my blog the other day because I had written a really good blog and tried to publish it and got the proxy error...............it was all erased. I then tried retyping it again, very frustrated I might add, and got the proxy error again. Whats going on?

Aaron, as a paying RainMaker, I've been meaning to call and discuss this with the powers that be.  My outside blog loads very slowly and I too experience the dreaded proxy error all too often.  Thanks for raising the question.

Hi Aaron, this is my third time trying to comment on your post, but the proxy errors keep getting in the way.  I hadn't thought about the fact that these problems are keeping potential clients from reading our posts as well.

From the desk of David Dee,

Aaron, glad to know I'm not alone. I thought it was my computer since I've been having some issues with my desktop.

Hi Aaron!  Funny but, I just spent quite awhile trying to upload a couple of posts--one I had tried early today, announcing an Open House tomorrow, without success.  I just thought I'd start put my posts on my main website first, then add it here later when I don't have to deal with the proxy error!  I think they may just need a larger server!

Oh, yeah--I also forgot to add, I was wondering the same thing--if folks click on the link from the search engines and see that proxy error message?  They're moving on!

Aaron * I often have Firefox and Google Chrome open with AR pages loading to see which appears faster.....during heavy useage times, the error messages, etc. are VERY tedious....

Hello, all:

Thanks for the comments!

One of the ways I test it is I open Chrome and Firefox. Then I try to open on Active Rain. If it's slow, I switch tabs and open Yahoo! or something else. Everything else opens instantly.

I am also having other technical issues. Sometimes on my "My Home" page, the stats don;t show the number of my featured posts. Sometimes it does. And none of my comments on other posts ever show my gold star.

Sometimes I lose comments I make, sometimes they post twice.

It can be frustrating. And I think they need more servers and bandwidth.

Hi Aaron-

I have run into the proxy error this week as well.  Is this only on your AR blog or do you use and AR "outside" blog as well?
