Do you think the single property websites can revolutionize the real estate business?

Do you think the single property websites can revolutionize the real estate business?

What I mean by single property websites?
A website with all the information prospective buyer needs such as:

  • lots of photos
  • google map
  • property specs
  • descriptive copy
  • school system info
  • neighborhood market stats
  • virtual tour

Do you think this is the way to go? Is this something that our customers need and are looking for? We would like to hear some opinions.

Dear Megan and Hanna:

We recommend them to our clients particularly in the luxury real estate market.  There is a whole science to this besides just throwing it on the web and hoping for someone to look at it.

Megan and Hanna:  Revolutionize... not so sure.  BUT... using single property websites can be extremely helpful in both marketing that particular listing, and in spreading your personal "brand" around.  Best of luck with it.

Megan and Hanna--How timely, as I've been considering this as well.  I think Karen Anne has hit on two of the best reasons to consider using them.  I'm going to give it a try on an upcoming listing, but in the meantime I look forward to reading some other members' thoughts on it.

I see this as a growing trend. Maybe Realtor needs to come up with it's own .something.

I can't see why this is better than having a page on my web site for the listing. In fact, since my web site already comes up pretty well on Google, I would think a separate web site would be a disadvantage.

Leslie, I don't see it as an either or proposition.  You can promote the listing on your agent website as well as on a single property website.

One of the best reasons to use a single property website, IMHO, is to GET the listing.  It's one more tool in your kit that you can use to show a prospective seller how you are the best choice.  In my area, newspaper ads are of rapidly diminishing importance in attracting buyers but some sellers insist on them.

Hi Megan & Hanna, We use the street address website/virtual tour from Circlepix in combination with every other outlet on the web(including AR). The theory is when http://www.35VancouverAve.com/ gets broadcast over and over on the web, from different sources, it starts to take on a life of it's own. We use our office site,Craigslist, our personal sites, our neighborhood sites and more.

We figure it's not that expensive, and goes a lot further than any newspaper these days as Don has noted.  Good luck.

Double Commitment. Double Results.

Ron & Alexandra - sounds like a great idea. I guess when we are ready we should  talk to PROS.

Karen - yes we would need a lot of luck and patience starting the project.

Kim - we hope we will have here more comments and advice.

Tony - .house  .home .realtor - very bright idea. Who knows maybe we don't have to wait f for that happening to long.

Laslie - We agree with Don - we don't think that separate website would be a disadvantage, we would say extra exposure.

Mark - looks like you are in an advance stage of the process

Evelyn - that's what we were doing for years too but we think in today's market we have to take an extra step and seems like the separate website is working for some.

Thank you for stopping by:
