Katie Stevens of MiddleburyCt will try again tonight at 8:00 PM to continue on American Idol. She was one of 10 women that survived the cut last week.

The judges were harsh on her last week and questioned her song selection as being too old for her age, and her dress as 'looking like her mother dressed her for the prom'. At the end of the voting, however, she had won enough people with their voice and personality to move on.

Many of the other contestants were likewise treated harshly, but understandably so when it's understood that they are trying to win a talent contest that rewards them with a recording contract and potentially sets their future on a fast path.

The fire station in Middlebury Ct will again be open to host another viewing party for Katie Stevens, with the doors opening at 7 PM

In Southbury Ct, at Pomperaug High School, where Katie is a senior, another viewing party will be hosted. School officials hope to rally support for Katie during the voting period, which opens for just a few hours after the show airs. Doors will open at 7:30 PM

Attendees to both venues are asked to bring their cell phones to vote.

Ed.. Are you going to cheer Katie on?  I missed last week's show.. watched the Olympics instead.  I think this week there will be a larger audience for this since the Olympics are over.  I know I'll be watching... and voting.

Good luck to Katie tonight.  Sounds like rude remarks from the judges last week, don't you think Ed? Think they should focus on the persons singing. Guess its a 'total package' but jeez these kids are just getting started!

I know you're pulling for the local girl to win it all Ed.

My fingers are crossed for you and Katie!

Sounds like a real party town.  What a great way to bring people together.  Reminds me of the Canada/U.S. hockey game the other night.  They kept cutting to party venues in different parts of the country.  Looks like lots of fun was had by all.

We will be rooting with you tonight.  We just aren't allowed to vote. :(

Ed, I am commenting and watching the show right now.  They have the guys on, so I don't think that Katie will be on until tomorrow night.

Katie will survive to sing another day but itlooks like the show is setting up the Boxworth girl to win. Even one of Simon's comments were about a comparison to one of the previous winners
