I was thinking about the sweat and pain I went through with this first property I purchased. Let me tell you this, real estate investing is not for the faint of heart or for anyone who feels it is automatic the first few years. From my experience, it’s not!

Things were actually pretty easy when my sister lived there and could watch the property for me. But after she moved out, reality hit! I’ll tell you this, real estate rentals are not easy money, they take a lot of hard work and take a heart of stone. I remember after getting a bad tenant, going up to Lafayette after he was evicted, cleaning all day, painting all day. One time we were up painting, I was outside cutting the grass, somehow I cut the line to the central A/C unit and ended up painting with my shirt off and my wife in a bra painting!
